Steven Gagnon is presenting a video installation inside a 1930
Ford Model A Tudor Sedan automobile that depicts his grandfather's written
account of life in Miami Beach in 1936.
Using visual materials
from the 1930s, Gagnon converts the old Ford's windows into video screens
that show Miami Beach from the period as his
grandfather's letters to his finance provide the narration. The car which
references his grandfather's profession as a mechanic and is the reason
why he came to Miami Beach during the 1935-36 winter season takes the
viewers on a journey through time as they walk around the piece.
