"Fountain" a guerrilla-style art fair - under the radar, independent
and highly influential, will be holding an exhibition in Chicago late
April to further the dialog of Brooklyn based galleries into Chicago during
Art Chicago and Bridge. With over a dozen Brooklyn galleries in Chicago
for the various art fairs this month, Fountain with three cutting edge
galleriest will showcase fresh work larger then the confines of an art
fair’s booth or selection committee juries. In form and spirit,
Fountain truly reflects the avant-garde and in-your-face attitude equated
with the Dada movement.
Founded in March 2006, Fountain has had successful exhibitions in both
New York and Miami. Now in 2007, Fountain has broadened its vision and
reaches out to the Chicago art scene in a one evening engagement: Saturday
April 28, 2007. Located in a private townhouse at 2445 W. Cortland Street
just steps from Western/Milwaukee Blue Line metro stop, Fountain’s
independent flavor will deliver a true night to remember. More house party
than an art fair, Fountain Chicago promises to introduce Chicago’s
art enthusiasts to the innovative work being produced and exhibited in
Brooklyn, New York.
Come and experience the unfiltered, uncouth and enterprising excitement
of Fountain. See advanced art as it was meant to be seen – without
blinders, without “taste merchants" – straight from the
source.

“A little self-propelled
garageband of an art fair … was a mosh-pit of art installed salon-style,
providing a bit of a reference to the original 1913 Armory Show. This
bunch of Brooklyn galleries and DIY artists showed true grit and a laconic
ability to think outside the taco” - Paul H-O Artnet
